March 2017

The first day of Lent falls this year on 1st March, when there will be Mass with Imposition of Ashes at 12.15 (Said) and 7.30pm (High).
We shall be marking Lent with a weekly service of Stations of the Cross, followed by an address, and concluding with Benediction. Each service will begin at 7.30pm and the first will take place on Wednesday 8th March at 7.30pm .
There will be High Mass on 25th March at 10.30am for the Feast of the Annunciation.

The fourth Sunday in Lent is "Laetare" known in the Church of England as Mothering Sunday.
At the high mass we will be distributing posies for mothers and others, which all are welcome to take.

Today, Mothering Sunday, it is turn to bring sandwiches to take to The Gatehouse for the homeless people in Oxford.

Stations and Benediction

This is to be our last Lenten weekly service of Stations of the Cross, followed by an address, and concluding with Benediction. The theme for the addresses this year has been the Servant Songs, four passages from Isaiah 40 – 55 (the section known as “Second Isaiah”) which proved particularly important for the early Christian interpretation of Christ.
